Hypertensive Heart Disease
High blood pressure can be of primary hypertension (unknown cause) or secondary hypertension. Secondary causes are hormonal imbalances such as thyroid disease, Cushing disease, Conn Syndrome etc., renal disease (glomerulonephritis, renal artery stenosis, polycystic kidneys, certain medications. High blood pressure may increase workload for the heart and blood vessels and cause disease.
