Inflammatory Heart Disease

Inflammatory heart disease is an umbrella term for inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis), the outer lining of the heart (pericarditis), the inner lining of the heart (endocarditis) or the myocardium (heart muscle). Inflammation may be caused by toxic chemicals, infectious agents or by an unknown origin.
